Final Prediction: April 2013
My final prediction for the sheer trend is that it will be around for a long time. Sheer keeps making a huge comeback and has been seen consecutively on the runway for years already. I do believe that the sheer trend has reached its peak. All retailers are carrying sheer garments and styles and consumers have purchased sheer and will continue to do so. Even if sheer does head into a decline, I think consumers will continue to wear it because of its femininity, versatility, and comfort. I do not actually think that sheer will ever completely fall out of style. We are already seeing designers incorporating sheer into their Fall 2013 collections and know that its popularity will continue. All of my friends continue to wear and purchase sheer shirts and dresses and every store I enter has it on the racks. As I scan the internet for more news on sheer, I see articles updated daily on how sheer has made its mark on women of all ages. As summer approaches, I think we can expect to see sheer in even brighter colors (maybe neons) and weightless fabrics to better suit the seasons heat. That only means that magazines will continue to advertise the sheer trend and keep consumers educated on how this trend can continue to evolve throughout the fashion cycle.
